Icing: Glamorous

Icing Glamorous swatch

Claire's Icing glamorous swatch

I would like this color a lot more if it came out more opaque. This will probably look a lot nicer on top of a black base or maybe even silver. I'll try it out next time and update this review for you girls :)

I'm wearing about 5 coats in these pictures, but 5 doesn't give me full coverage :( I'm thinking layering is the way to go.

This is like black... but BETTER haha. This colour looks black most of the time, unless you’re under bright lighting then you can tell is a dark chocolate brown. I know the sunlight picture could be better. It was a rare moment in winter and the sun was shining through my window. So there I was...sitting there at the corner of my room taking pictures of my hands. What a sad sight ahahah.

I think the formula was a tad bit gloopy, so I probably would’ve had a better time applying this is I added a few drops of thinner in there.

That said, this polish is pretty opaque after just one coat. I’m wearing 2 coats and top coat in these pictures. This polish is quite long-lasting too, I wore this for 6 days and I only have slight tip-wear and a small chip on my index finger.

OPI: From A to Zurich

OPI From A to Zurich

OPI dusty red swatch

This is a really pretty unique color. I like it because it has this chocolate look to it, if that makes sense. It's a deep red with a brown-purple tint to it, giving this color a more creamy melted chocolate look. I wish I had a sunlight photo to show you now, but I think I'm going to have to wait until the weather warms up.

If you like reds, I think this is nice to add to the collection : ))

OPI: The Pirates of the Caribbean Collection!

Omg, I'm so excited! OPI is releasing a new collection soon, and these colors look pretty out of the box for OPI. I'm thinking when it comes out I need this whole collection. (I believe some time in May we can expect to see these on the shelves).

Just Nice Things Did a wonderful post with bottle pictures and they had a few swatches of the upcoming collection so you can take a look there to get more details. Just wanted to do a quick post! Now I gotta get ready for school. lol.

Have a nice day!

OPI: Lincoln Park after Midnight

OPI Lincoln park after midnight

OPI Lincoln park after midnight swatch

With Flash:
Lincoln park after midnight

I remember the first time I saw this, I was like OMG I must have it because apparently according to OPI’s pamphlet its “limited availability” (I know what a reason...). M actually ended up buying for me, I can’t remember if she had a reason for buying it for me. Probably saw that I’ve gone mad (This is when the polish addiction started, lol)

This is such a pretty color. I admit the first time I wore it; I didn’t really appreciate it that much. Plus my nails looked different back then. But now, it’s just so pretty! I’m wearing 3 coats in this picture. The subtleness of the shimmer is what I really like about it. I prefer this over Lincoln Park after Dark, probably because LPAD looks black in most lighting.

Now I want more colors that are similar to it, so if you girls have any suggestions, throw them my way!

Oh, I almost forgot, Happy Valentine's day :)

OPI: Lincoln Park after Dark

OPI Lincoln Park after Dark

Lincoln Park after Dark swatch

I actually envisioned this color differently in my mind. I didn’t think it would some out so... black? I guess I was picturing “We’ll always have Paris” but a few shades darker.

I’m wearing 3 coats here to get maximum coverage; you could stop at 2 if you like.

In most lighting this color looks annoyingly black; I’m not sure what’s the craze about over this color.

OPI: Strawberry Margarita

OPI Strawberry Margarita

Strawberry Margarita Swatch

A lovely classic hot pink. This has a semi-jelly finish to it, but I remember it was leaning more towards the creme side. I decided to do a re-post of this because my swatches before were not up to par.

This color is part of OPI's classic, permanent line. I mean I can see why, it's bold, pink and perfect for the summer time! haha. Although I do wish they made more of their colors part of the classic lines. I mean, sometimes we change our minds about a color and it's too late :(

I did 2 coats in these pictures. Flawless application. It's rare that OPI would disappoint me.

Note: Essie's Status Symbol is an exact dupe of this color. So if you own either one, theres no need to own the other one. They are exactly the same. You can see the comparision here.

Nicole By OPI: One Less Lonely Glitter (w. video)

Nicole by OPI One less lonely glitter swatch

Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber swatches

Justin Bieber One Less Lonely

I had to add a little video for this one so you can see it's true essences. In the picture it's hard to do that. I'm wearing 3-4 coats here, the polish has okay coverage on it. In this lavender polish, there is a mixture of smaller glitter and larger circle-like chunks.

The polish dries pretty quick, and that's usually the case for glitter polishes. I do however recommend finishing off with top-coat to give it this "glassy" look to it. What I did was, I added one layer of a thin top coat (Revlon's Extra Life) and once that completely dries up I added a thicker topcoat (Dazzle Dry). I think it is quite effective when you wear glitter polishes. I just feel that when you put on a thinner top coat, after it dries... it sinks into the glitter and you don't have that glassy look.

In terms of wear, I find that glitters chip more quickly than other polishes. I had chipping on the 4th day of wear. It wasn't big chips or anything, but I can't stand wearing a mani with the slightest chip. Oh, it also took me forever to remove all the glitter. I was rubbing like crazy, I even tried dipping a cheap toothbrush into acetone and brushing it off. In the end I did the "foil" technique, which seems to work the best. haha.

To my Asian friends, tommorrow is new years so.... Happy Asian New Year! Gung Hay Fat Choy, and Chuc Mung Nam Moi :) Those are the only lanuages I know. LOL
