Essie: Pink Parka

Essie Pink Parka swatch

Essie Pink Parka

Err, where has the sun been these days?! I can't take sunlight pictures without sun! :(

I'm quite happy with this color. I've actually been looking around for it for some time, and I ended up finding it at this vietnamese nail distributor. In these pictures I'm wearing 3 coats I believe. I'm pretty sure it's 3. My memory fails me. lol. But yea, the drying time is awesome, as with most neon polishes. They dry instantly. Then you put top coat and "poof" you're done.

In terms of the color, I think it's a fun color. I orginally decided to wear it during exam time to lighten up the mood. Everytime my mom sees a neon polish she doesn't like it, and kind of laughs at me because she thinks it's ghetto. hahaha. But it sure does capture people's attention though. A few guys commented on how bright my nails were. lol!

In case any of you girls were wondering how it compares to ChG's Shocking Pink. I like Pink Parka a lot more. Something about Shocking Pink is too... shocking. If you get what I'm saying. Pink Parka is slightly more toned down, and has more of a blue tone to it than SP. Although in the bottles, they kind of look the same. I will compare the two one day if anyone interested. :)

Okay, so I happened to be wearing black nail polish while studying, and somewhere along the way I was like... I should at least put something up for halloween. And 5 minutes later, this is what I have. LOL!!!

I send the picture to Milan and she was like laughing thinking the web was cute. Probably meant it in this pathetic way. haha.

Just wanted to make a post wishing everyone a happy halloween! And have a great weekend! :D

I promise I will try to make better nail art soon :)

Barielle Sweet Addiction review

Finally, the majority of my Midterms are over, well... everything seems to be very spread out this year. Not that I'm complaining, but now I have some time on my hands to do my reviews :)

This color I have here is very opaque. The first thing that caught my eye with this color was that it somewhat looked like Misa's Dirty Sexy Money. Not that I've seen the actual in real life... I don't think I've came across any retailers that sell Misa yet. You can get full coverage in 1 coat, but I don't recall it being a 1 coater. It looks best at 2 coats, and thats what I have here. It's a very nice color, but after comparing it in person it looks a lot like $OPI's Read my Palm but like 2-3 shades darker? Regardless it's a very nice color. I do however, recommend using top coat. I didn't use any here but it doesn't have that smooth high-gloss shine that I generally like.

More colors to come, keep an eye out :)

That's it for today. I'll try working on nail art... not sure if I'll make it for Halloween. Perhaps an early start to xmas. LOL

P.S. Would like to make a special note thanking Jessica for sending these to us for review. And Glendora for helping us review the package here in Canada. : ))

I'm india mood for love dupe

Hand Indoors with Flash:

I find this colour is really flattering for my skin tone! It looks a lot like OPI's I'm India Mood for Love in natural lighting, but more purple in fluorescent/artificial lighting.

I think I might like Icing's brushes more than OPI's pro-wide brush. It has about the same thickness but it's it was a bit easier to use. All in all, the application and drying time was great. This was a one-coater! 'Nuff said.

Set 2

Here are a couple designs I came up with this past summer. Well minus the two nail designs in the second image. Those were re-creations of a tutorial I saw on youtube. I will post a link to the videos as soon as I find them!

In set one, all you need is a dotter. Well, you actually don’t need a dotter... I personally used a toothpick for the smaller dots, and as for the larger ones I used the ball on the needle pin. Haha. I was feeling crafty.
As for colors (L-R):

_____1. Orly Lemonade and Cotton Candy
_____2. Revlon Peach Petal, China Glaze White on White, H&M Bell’s Choice
_____3. A Beautiful Life Noir and Sula Paint and Peel Kelly
_____4. China Glaze For Audrey, and A Beautiful Life Noir
_____5. China Glaze Spontaneous and Secret Periwinkle

As for the second set of designs you will need a striping brush and of course I used toothpicks for the dots. Lol.

_____1. Orly Lemonade, Relvon Minted, OPI Do you Lilac it?, OPI No Room for the Blues, OPI Shorts Story, China Glaze White on White
_____2. OPI Mod about You, China Glaze White on White, OPI No Room for the Blues
_____3. Relvon Minted, China Glaze White on White, OPI India Mood for Love

I think the pictures are self explanatory, but if you have any questions feel free to comment below! And again I will post the two youtube links asap when I find my blogging notebook.
Thats it for today, gotta go study!!

EDIT: Here are the two links for the last two designs in set 1.

I have another Icing polish for you today. This one reminds me of a mermaids tail...or a fish of that matter lol. I did 2 coats of this polish. I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this before but Icing actually has quite the wide brush! Similar to OPI's pro-wide, but I think Icing's is slighly more stiff. I never encountered any application troubles so far. It's quite rare that I have any problems applying nail polish. lol.

I added the video for this post so you get a better feel of how it shines or what not. haha, I sure need to learn how to edit videos. I mean... I think you can hear water squirting in the background, hahaha.

I’m feeling pretty good now, the first half of my midterms will be completed as of 1pm. So I decided what better way to celebrate than to share this color with you. Yes, it’s pink... but this color is just so damn awesome. Like it was love at first sight! It was Monday evening, I got home from school around 7pm and as I was walking into the house my mom points out that a box came in the mail. So I look down, and I was like... woah that’s a big box. Of course being as excited as I was I grabbed an exacto knife out of my bag and started to go at the box to rip it open.

Being the boring person that I am, of course this pink was the one that stood out the most to me. Lol, I swear, I feel like I’m the only blogger who gets worked up over pink!! This color is so me. Haha. I was on MSN talking to my sister Milan and I was like “You will not F-ing believe, this color is so me! Once you see it this weekend you’re going to be like shit son, it’s so you.” Hahaha. Yea M and I sometimes like to talk gangster to each other for kicks. Does anyone else do that? LOL

This is 3 coats, and it dries semi-matte so I do recommend topcoat. The color run along the lines of Eyeko’s Punk Polish. It does have that vibrancy to it, but it’s not so much neon. But I think it has a little, by the way it dried.

Last note I’ll leave you with, the polish lasted over 1 week without any chips or tip wear. (I usually never mention this part because I used to wear my colors for 3 days, or I would post my review the moment I wore it.) But yea! 1 whole week, I used OPI’s top coat in case you were wondering : )

We also like to thank Julie for being so generous as to sending these polishes out to us! We have more swatches coming up :D

For all of you who haven’t heard of Piggy Polish, they were designed to go on toes. Well, no one says you can’t put it on your hands ;) You can check out the rest of the colors here. They run for $9 US each, and I believe you can find them at Ulta for those girls in the US. Btw, this color on the site seems to be listed under the orange category. I’m not too sure why though. Lol

ChG secret periwinkle

Man, I'm so tired. Went to bed around 1.30am last night, and I woke up at 4.30 this morning to review a couple of my marketing notes. 10AM midterm this morning...must get to school by 9AM just incase something goes wrong with the subway. *shakes fist*

Okay this color has been sitting on my rack for months! I mean in the bottle it was just an okay whatever color. But once on the nails... I like it a lot! I believe this is 2 coats, althought it might be 3. My memory fails me, lol.

Oh boy, doesn't it look so pretty in the sunlight? It has that Orly Snowcone feel to it! (Okay it might not, shhhh don't tell me... I gave up looking for it :'[ )

This color is very easy to find, Sally's carries it in their regular line of China Glaze polishes. I do wish they carried more though.
